On 7 July 2026, the UK FCA updated its short selling information page to reflect the new short selling regime that takes effect 13 July.
- Until 13 July, the existing rules apply, which includes the list of exempt shares which determines the scope of position reporting and covering requirements, and the current public disclosure of individual firms' net short positions at and above the 0.5% threshold.
