On 2 December 2022, BEL FEB updated on the agreement reached by the consultation committee on 30 November 2022, re the screening mechanism for foreign investment.

• Greenfield investments were excluded from scope, nanotechnologies were added to it, corrective measures aren't listed exhaustively but must meet a proportionality test.
• A more in-depth investigation can only be carried out in well-defined circumstances.
• Call for the necessary legal certainty in the development of the mechanism and in the guidelines' drafting, as well as for deadlines comparison with neighboring countries.
• The text must now be signed by all parties to the cooperation agreement and BEL FEB will organize an information session to present this new mechanism to companies.
