On 26 June 2024, SWE INS announced it has approached government offices to seek amendments to the law on the review of foreign direct investments.
- Insurance and occupational pension companies should be exempted from the obligation to notify certain acquisitions to the Inspectorate for strategic products.
- SWE INS previously informed the Inspectorate for strategic products that the notification obligation entails major, and in some cases insurmountable, application problems and is now taking a step further to bring about a change in the law.
- The amendment would exempt insurance and occupational pension companies from the reporting obligation or limit the reporting obligation for such companies.
