France – Expansion of FDI 10% Threshold

On 30 July 2026, the French government expanded the requirement for prior authorization of foreign direct investment (FDI) to include French companies that trade on certain non-EU regulated markets.

  • acquiring 10% or more of the voting rights
  • pertains to French companies considered to be within Sensitive Industries sector
  • pertains to these non-EU markets: London Stock Exchange, SIX Swiss Exchange, Toronto Stock Exchange, Singapore Exchange, Japan Exchange, Korea Exchange
