Malaysia – Extends Existing Short Selling Ban

On 26 August 2021, MLY SCM further extended the suspension of intraday short selling by proprietary day traders (PDT Short Sale) to 31 December 2021.

Follows careful consideration of various initiatives currently undertaken to strengthen control measures for intraday short selling activities to promote market stability.
