On 2 January 2025, UK FCA updated guidance page on notification and disclosure of net short selling to add the updated UK list of exempted shares valid from 1 January 2025.

• List has been reviewed to include shares admitted to trading on UK trading venues until 31 October 2024, list valid from 1 January 2025, applies to positions reached from then.
• FCA will assess shares admitted to trading in November and December 2024 that it did not include in latest review, to determine their principal trading venue, a revised list will therefore be released in due course which will apply to positions reached from 1 April 2025.
• The list of exempted shares will be updated periodically, FCA normally makes this assessment when it receives new net short selling notifications, but it also considers instances where shares are no longer traded on UK trading venues.
• If position holders think information in the list is wrong they should contact the FCA.
