On 13 July 2026 the FCA’s new short selling rules came effective.
Background:
- Replaces the assimilated EU Short Selling Regulation (Regulation (EU) No 236/2012)
- Use the Reportable Shares List (RSL) CSV and XLSX.
- Report net short positions in line with applicable deadlines and reporting requirements, using the Electronic Submission System (ESS)
- Comply with covering requirements.
