New Q4.10 clarifies that identification of relevant competent authority, following entry into application of MiFIDII/MiFIR is no longer made under Commission reg 1287/2006. The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has publicly reprimanded Huatai Financial Holdings (Hong Kong) Limited (Huatai Financial) 1 and fined it $800,000 pursuant to section 194 of the Securities and Futures Ordinance (SFO).
On 3 August 2018, HKEX updated the designated securities eligible for short selling. 25 additional securities will be eligible for short selling and 48 existing designated securities will be removed from the list. The total number will be 946 after this.
