On 19 December 2019, IND SEBI issued SEBI (FPI) (amendment) regulations, 2019.

• In regulation 2, substitutes regulation 2 of the foreign exchange management (transfer or issue of security by a person resident outside India) regulations, 2017.
• With rule 2 of the foreign exchange management (non-debt instruments) rules, 2019.
• In regulation 20, substitutes foreign exchange management (transfer or issue of security by a person resident outside India) regulations, 2017.
• To foreign exchange management act, 1999, rules and regulations made thereunder.
• In regulation 20 sub-regulation 9 is omitted, effective on publication in official gazette.
