On 16 November 2023, CIRO, CSAs published Bulletin 23-0173 on feedback obtained on short-selling framework; no consensus on proper regulatory regime for short selling.

• Reiterate short selling plays important role in financial markets; promote transparency, contributes to liquidity, price discovery, market integrity and investor protection.
