The Securities and Exchange Commission of Ghana (SEC) released Draft Guidelines: ‘Securities Industry (Securities Lending and Borrowing and Short Selling) Guidelines 2026’ for comment.
Background
- Short selling reporting regime commencing at 0.1% and 0.5% respectively;
- Short selling reporting regime (bonds issued by the Government of Ghana), commencing at 0.5%;
- Short selling bans which may be implemented;
- Types of approved securities lending and borrowing agreements.
Feedback should be received no later than 18 September 2026.
