On 26 June 2023, AST FIRB announced that the new register to notify the Australian government of foreign investment actions taken will be introduced on 1 July 2023.

• The new register will hold details of foreign ownership of Australian assets, including residential land, commercial land, agricultural land, water interests, mining and exploration tenements, and some business and entity-related interests.
• From 1 July, most investment actions currently reported via the Notification of Actions (NOA) webform will be reported to via AST Tax’s Online Services for Foreign Investors (OSFI) to the new register; NOA webform will be unavailable after 30 June 2023.
