• BEL CB issued circular NBB_2024_09 to financial institutions on acquisitions, increases, reductions and transfers of qualifying holdings, and the relevant reporting templates.

Purpose

• Update of circular NBB_2017_23 on the occasional and periodic reporting obligations of financial institutions to the supervisory authority in relation to qualifying holdings.
• Remind financial institutions of the statutory and regulatory reporting requirements re the composition of their capital and to inform them of the digitization of the forms.
• Available is the Occasional Disclosure Form in Word version, used until 30 September 2024, and pdf version from 1 October 2024; and the Annual Disclosure Form in Word and pdf.

Effectiveness

• This circular repeals and replaces circular NBB_2017_23 with immediate effect.
• With the exception of the old forms which remain applicable until 30 September 2024.
